The University of New Orleans uses Moodle as a hosted, online learning solution based on an open-source Moodle core, as its central course delivery platform. Instructors of online, hybrid and classroom-based courses configure their Moodle course shells to deliver content including syllabi, policies and information, lectures, assignments, discussions, quizzes and exams, chats, and grades.

Students participate by receiving lecture content in various formats, submitting assignments, communicating with their instructors and classmates, and accessing grades.

Moodle Update - Fall 2020

Is a great game to teach colours, matching skills, observational skills, critical thinking and waiting your turn (inadvertently patience). It is simple enough that my three year old can play UNO Moo! Also, the game provides a boost in self-confidence because he understands the game, and can play it without an adult helping him. It’s a preschool version of the world’s beloved UNO game! In UNO MOO!, farm animals come out of their barn to play with you! Like the classic game, players round up the animals by matching their colors or types. To start, place all of the figures in the barn and mix them up. Players draw five figures from among the animals or farmers. Little ones can experience all the fun of classic UNO with added twists in this UNO Moo barn game. PRODUCT FEATURES. Round up animals & place them in the barn; Start the game with each player taking 5 animal pieces from the barn & hiding them behind their designated haystack; A random animal is placed on top of the barn for players to match. We kicked off the Fall semester with a new, improved Moodle site hosted by eThink Education, a Certified Moodle Partner. You will notice a few changes, but most of your experience will be familiar and your content will be in place.

One benefit you’ll see is that Moodle is now part of our campus single sign-on system, meaning if you’re logged into your UNO email, you’re logged into Moodle, and vice versa. You can log in from any Moodle link on the UNO website, from a Moodle tile on your myapps.uno.edu page, or by going directly to moodle.uno.edu.

  • How do I get rid of multiple sections of a merged course?

Merged courses in Moodle are now seen as cross listed! That means you’ll now see both section numbers in the Moodle course name. If you have cross listed (formerly called merged) courses, you need to use the cross listed course in Moodle, as the individual courses will no longer update enrollments.
If you see both the incorrect, older style merged course (20FALL-CRAWFISH1001-M476) and the correct, new style cross listed course (20FALL-CRAWFISH1001-476, 20FALL-CRAWFISH1001-585 - The Magnificence of Crawfish) we need to know please email us immediately. Make sure to include the full course names both the incorrect version (with the M) and the correct version (cross listed) in the email.

Uno Moo Pieces

These videos are recordings of our Wednesday Workshop series. They are not intended to be stand-alone training.

Considered the preschool version of the classic card game Uno, Uno Moo ($15) Uno Moo is a fun farm animal spin on an old favorite. By matching pieces by type (various farm animals) or color, kids learn to categorize a piece in two different ways, and try to be the first to get rid of all their figures. And of course, much like the original card game, the player who is down to one piece has to yell “Uno moo!”, which is an irresistible hook to keep attention invested in the game. The cute Uno Moo game pieces are perfect sizes for little ones to hold, and the rules are simple to understand.

Uno Moo game play is fairly fast, which should help with anyone learning how to take turns. Keep your pieces behind haystack to keep others from seeing what you have. Everyone draws pieces from the barn, and the youngest player gets to kick off the first turn by placing one of their pieces in the barn door first. The next player checks to see if they have a piece with the same animal or the same color, and plays their piece on the barn door next, pushing the piece originally on the barn door back into the barn. Then it’s the next person’s turn.

There is also a bit of technique to playing the farmer (which is like playing a wild card), as well as penalty points like playing the skunk. Although with younger players you can just skip over those rules to simplify things even more if it’s too challenging. The first player to play all their pieces is the winner. Then you’ll find the remaining players wants to see who could finish next – although I think all players just look for their opportunity to shout “Uno moo!” too.
